Friday Finds

 A day early!

Have you been to Plasticland yet? They just revamped their website and have a bunch of cool stuff. Some things on my wishlist:

$72 for these midnight blue cross-strap mary janes. They come in burgundy too.

Weirdo Noir and Gothic Lowbrow Art, a book by Matt Dukes Jordan is available there for $25

The Have a Heart bottle opener is $14. I've seen this in person and it's pretty hefty, just what you need in a good bottle opener.
Just $18 for this hot pink mod lucite tray. I really love this, but I have nowhere to put it and it deserves to shine!

Over at Modcloth, this Tally Home door mat is something I would buy! We need a doormat, actually, so it might actually happen:
And now for some vintage things I wish I had. These are one of a kind, so you'd better hurry if you want em! There are a lot of vintage sellers on Etsy, so check back with these shops if you like their style. Something new comes in all the time.

I'd love these for the garden I hope to have someday: Mid Century Metal Garden Chairs, $90 for the pair from Banglespark's shop.

One of my dream finds is a mid century teak credenza, both with the hutch and without. My fantasy home will have one, you just wait. Until then, I can look dreamily at these:

Apparently Fiesta ware made, once upon a time, demitasse cups or espresso cups. Now they are very rare. So rare, in fact, that just one beauty like this costs $ 125.00

Sigh...so pretty!

Also, out of nowhere, I decided I really like milk glass, and I also really like compotes. Especially footed ones. This one here is only $16 from sparrowstation

If you're starting a Martha Stewart worthy collection, you might want to get on this group of 5 cuties from bellachicboutique for only $40

Book Love

I've told you about my love for Mike Stilkey, right? He makes art out of old books. It's amazing:

I have dreams all the time about my future library, and I haven't been able to buy too many physical books lately (I've been downloading ebooks), so I'm feeling withdrawal. This post is about awesome book-related things.

First up, bookends! They break up the space on your shelves, separate special books, and help out on those shelves without sides.

Bookend Women, $49.95 at Wrapables:
Bicycle Bookends, $24.99  by Knob Creek Metal Arts:
I've never heard of shelf pillows, but now I want them! These Victorian Women bookends are $22
from Etsy seller Two Stray Cats

$45 for this set of Shabby Chic Bookends in Turquoise from Pretty Darn Cute

Only $14 for a print of this awesome painting by Parada Creations:

Bookplates (with a BIRD on it!) $4.50 for 6 of em from the Paper Pumpkin:

I don't have the funds for something like this, but I would totally love it! $450 for a vintage card catalog.

Birds in a Book Club print by Barking Bird Art, $18

They've also got these cute photo clips for $12. Put em on a clothesline for added cuteness.

Locket Rings

I love hiding places that are in plain sight, like books that are hollowed out or fake rocks that hold keys. My mother used to have a couple of locket rings. Several of them held a gel-like perfume that you presumably would dab on your neck and wrists over the course of the day. I noticed that some fellow Etsy members are making these still and started looking for other ones. Yes, I am aware that these are totally cocaine rings, but I prefer to think that you could store other things there, like poison, or a picture of someone you love, or lip gloss.

This locket ring is only $14.50 from Sweet Simple on Etsy. I love the etching!

This neo-Victorian mourning locket ring is a bit pricey at $35, but it's nice and big, like a cocktail ring. If Victorian women in mourning were allowed to venerate cocktails, that is.

This one is actually a bit see through, but can hold a little note or something! I love it.
You Stole My Heart Locket Ring from Milkmoneyshop, $14.

People still make the perfume rings, including Marc Jacobs

It's a bit much, no?

Kat Von D also makes one:

I used to be a fan of Kat Von D, but damn she's just not smart at all. Her show is a diagram of how not to be smart. Don't get me wrong, she's successful and an excellent artist, but she would be a good silent film star, if you know what I mean. Damn I like her Sephora stuff, though...
